    NO VENT in new lavatory?
I purchased a cheap combination bath vanity cabinet and solid "cultured marble lavatory top" at THE well known "Big Box Home Improvement Store"... I now find that the sink part has NO drain VENT. HOW do I properly VENT a system like this and use it without the "gurgle, gurgle... bubble, bubble noise & effect" ? Charlie

The vent is not part of the vanity, its inside the wall cavity where you can't see it. The vent is on the drain not the sink or were you possibly thinking of the over flow hole in most sinks?

While I don't agree with the change I'm starting to see builders install lavatories without a overflow. This does not interfere with the drain or vent operations and it's seldom anybody's dumb enough to walk away and leave the water running but I like the protection a overflow gives you. Regards, Tom

    Hey Charlie:

These guys are right... overflow holes are not available on ALL sinks today.

Like Ballenger said, overflow hole is just that.. overflow hole. The vent is inside the wall.. or should be... SO...

If sink drain still an issue, may need to snake the drain.. or may just need to adjust your pop-up assembly so that the horizontal pivot rod is one hole lower in the clevis... and see if that increases height the stopper *pops-up*... see pic.

Let us know what you find... Mark

I had a new large Kohler sink installed in the bathroom. The pop up stopper can be twisted and pulled out. I've got the pivot rod piercing the eyelet of the stopper and I've tightened the retaining nut, but with minimal twist, the stopper just comes out of the drain. I would think that the pivot...
