    Court Supervised Move
I was just put on court supervised probation on the 17th of this month. I was given a class A misdemeanor and put on my un-supervised probation for one year. Am I able to move out of state?

    Hello al:

I don't know. In the first part of your question, you say you were put on SUPERVISED probation. Then you say UNSUPERVISED. Dude. If you don't know what probation you're on, how do you expect us to? Read the terms of your probation. If you don't have terms, call the probation office.

Probably not, unless your current state and the state where you want to move agree to transfer your probation.

You are on probation, so even without supervision, most likely the terms require you notify the department of any move out of state. You will have to go back and verify this.

For a probation of less than a year I doubt if they would agree to transfer your probation to another state. You can try and ask for a transfer in writing giving the state and city, etc. See excon's sticky at the top of this topic for how to do this. In the meantime do not leave your state unless you have prior written permission from the PO dept as you would automatically violate yourself leaving the state without their prior written permission.
