    Suburban w/rear a/c
    My sisters suburban (1996 K2500 5.7 ) needs new refrigerant lines that run to the back . Can they be bypassed . She would like to charge the system and use the front a/c .

    The rear system can be bypassed but the hard part will be finding either the lines to do that or the find some one who can fabricate the lines (they are aluminum).
    The entire system is service from the front access ports but once the rear capacity is removed, your total refrigerant charge needs to be reduce.

    Good answer Rich! They also need to make a note of it under the hood because if they sell the vehicle and someone else tries to recharge the system with the assumption that the rear A/C system is still intact, they're going to overfill it which is going to create bigger problems.
