Hi there.. I am 20 years old and have always been very empathic... when I was young (2yrs) I would tell my mom about my "other life." I had "friends" that actually spoke to me but I kind of grew out of it with age. I sometimes experienced premonition type things where I foresaw something that was going to happen. My grandmother died this February and since very strange things have been happening. First of all, I often smell this very strong foul odor that I could smell on my grandma before she died, the doctors said it was the smell of the cancer. I smell it often lingering around my mother when she is alone, but when I come near it disappears. My grandma also speaks to me in dreams. She tells me things to tell my mom, shows me pictures of events that I didn't even know about that actually happened, etc. A few weeks ago, we moved her bedroom furniture and much of her belongings into my guest room. Since the furniture has been there my two dogs have been flipping out... they won't leave the room, they lay on the bed and roll over like they are being rubbed... they sit in there for hours, a room they have NEVER gone in before. Now I smell her in the guest room... not her nice perfume smell, but this strong weird foul smell like when she was really sick... it quickly disappears though. I was warned when she was sick that since I'm so empathic not to let her put a hook in me to hang around and not move on. Recently I was at the doctor having work done on an electric machine... the machine wouldn't work for me... they tried 5 other people, no problem, but every time they tried on me it stopped working. I have heard mixed reviews that it could be a demon trying to trick me, that I could just be easily reached by spirits, I don't know... I am just looking for answers really about what to do and how to develop this gift. Thanks so much

Hi naf01,

I just wanted to say that I found your story very interesting. I have also had some experiences with things that have happened after my grandmother, and some other family members and friends that have passed. However, I smell my grandma's perfume and see sparkles (like glitter) falling... sometimes when I open a cupboard or something similar where there has never been glitter or anything of the sort. Of course when I look at the floor there is nothing there. I've also had things happen that I can't pass off to coincidence with electrical things, my phone and so on.

I wish I had some answers to give you. Have you tried reading any books about this? Sylvia Browne perhaps?
