Jett and I just got the first snake of the year! Keeping it in a bucket so little brother can see it when he wakes from his rest! :) Now we can officially say it is SPRING!

*yawn* Tired, Semi Sick, Gota go Turn in My Job applictation to Papa Murphy's and then go to the football meeting at six. I've actaully got quite a story today!
Me and my 2 friends are deciding that when were 16 that Summer of 09 Were going to go on this big roadtrip up east coast to places like NYC, Boston, Hershey, and then down to Myrtle Beach SC. Well me and my friend Brett did a little math on the ole calculator to see how much we should expect if well all have jobs my this may and work until may of next year
Guy:
6 Dollar MW x 30 Hours=$180 for 2 weeks
180x.07 Federal tax=12.6
180-12.6=167.4 (We'll round up for this so 167.5)
But wait my moms want me to put 10% of my pay into my college so 167.5x.1=16.75
167.5-16.75=150.75$
150.75x 2=301.5... So in 1 months I'll make a total of $301.5.. so Multiply that by 13 for the number of months
301.5x13=$3919.5
Brett:
Basicially the same execpt that he dads wants 50% in his college so
167.5x13=2177.5
Now with treigh we don't know if his parents want anything so we'll say they don't
Treigh:
167.5x2=335
335x13=4355
So Add all of those together
4355+3919.5+2177.5=10,452 DOllARS!
Remember, this isn't all the factors that can be put into this like Insurance fates, Christmas, If we gota fix the vehicle before the trip, stuff for us like video games and such,etc... but that's still a lot of money for three 16 year olds. Someone check my math
Remember this is only in the works But I Really hopes this happen. Because if it does then with my 3000 I'm spending a night in the 4 seasons Hotel in Boston if I can afford it (PS, I've got family all up and down the east coast so most of the money will be shopping and such, because we'll only have to pay for gas and some food)

My parents say they don't care so I'm already a go and we've got many a vehicle to choose from

I want to go! Heehee, just kidding, I hope you have the best time. Work hard and make a list of things "to get done" and check it off as you complete one. Even if it is a list of saving the money on a weekly basis, if there is a check mark, you are sooner on your way!! GO GUY!
I wish I had done this. You are lucky to have good friends to go with, this is cool!

Guy that's amazing, good for you! That's a lot of money to make as well!
I remember I got a job when I was 16... and I worked for two straight years to buy my car... in the end, that feeling of actually getting what you want, and then knowing you earned it... is priceless. You think you'll feel good now, trust me when I say... it STILL feels good when I look at my car. Way to go.

Hey all,
Guy, that's great. When I was 14 I got a job cleaning an office building. When I was 16 I spent the money to go to Germany by myself for 2 months. I stayed with relatives but did allot of travelling on my own, by train (in Germany you have to be 18 to drive, but only 16 to go to a bar, go figure). I had a blast, I'll never forget that trip.
How's everyone else?

Yup, for my cousin. That was great M!
What do you consider cold M?
We went to Penticton one year, my hubby and me, before he was my hubby. We were walking downtown, it was around 35 degrees celsius, we were both ready to melt on to the sidewalk.
Along comes a guy, he stops us and starts talking to us, not hard to guess he's from Australia (by the way, love, absolutely LOVE, the accent). Anyway, he asks if the weather is going to get better. We say "Gosh we hope so, this heat wave is killing us.", he looks at us with confusion and says "Heat wave? It's bloody freezing."
Just goes to show what you get used to. Oh, we ended up having dinner with him. Unfortunately the restaurant had air conditioning. Poor guy.

LMAO... great story Alty , and you love the accent too ay. When I was in the States a few years ago I would get people asking me to talk all the time as well :-)
Well today it is 15 celsius , yeah I know , not really that cold compared to the temperatures you guys get. Australia as I'm sure your aware is a very BIG country so the weather really does vary depending on where you live though.

Hello,
Currently, I work for a company in my OPT. But somehow I know my employee should not deduct my Social Security taxes & medicare taxes, the problem is that I just can't figure out which publication and where of the IRS noticed that. I checked the former thread that the tax expert mentioned...
