Shower leaking on carpet and ceiling
This past week, approximately 5 minutes after taking a shower in my upstairs bathroom, my son said that water had leaked out around a light fixture located on the ceiling under the bathroom area. I had noticed that the water had been slow to drain during the shower so thought it was a partially clogged drain. I removed a good bit of hair from the drain and it began to operate normally. The next morning, I took a shower and there was no leak through the ceiling/fixture. However, the next day, I noticed that the carpet in the adjacent bedroom, approximately 6 inches away from the shower, was very wet down to the pad, it seemed. The carpet nearest the shower, though, is dry. I do not have any experience with home repairs and would like to know what I should do next. Thank you.

Well obviously you have a leak in the shower. That leak is probably in the water supply rather than the drain. The two most likely places for a leak to occur is where the pipe to the shower head comes out of the wall or the shower valve. Is this a tub and shower or just a shower. What kind of shower valve do you have, a single handle of a three handle? Pull that ring around the shower arm (pipe) away from the wall, with a flashlight and the shower running, look in the wall and see if there is any signs of water.

We bought a flipped property about a year and a half ago, and, as I had feared, issues are starting to crop up. The first one we just had taken care of yesterday - there was no pressure regulator installed, and so we had 95 psi coming into the house. Unfortunately, I think Problem One may have...
