Can I still get my period if I'm pregnant?
I am feeling most of the symptoms of pregnancy, fatigue, headaches, sensitive breasts, etc. I got my period yesterday but it was a week and a half early! I haven't taken a pregnancy test yet because I was not late, but I feel like I could be pregnant. Is it even possible to be pregnant and get a period?

Not technically... although you can have bleeding in pregnancy. Could be your cycle is just off and the symptoms you have are due to your period. They are often much the same as those in early pregnancy for many women. See what happens when your period was actually due and test at that time if you find it necessary. Obviously, if you continue with the symptoms, try a test sooner and see what results you get.

My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant so I am not on BC. The reason I asked this question is because my daughter was born 3 1/2 weeks before her due date weighing almost 9 pounds. I vaguely recall having a conversation with a nurse while I was in the hospital about her being almost a month premature and so large. She said that some women get a period after they get pregnant and that is what throws off the due date. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

Are your periods regular or irregular? It also depends on when in your cycle you get pregnant.

Both of my kids were born 2 weeks "early." They figure the conception date based on the beginning date of your last period. That makes the pregnancy officially 40 weeks, when the actual pregnancy goes from the conception date to delivery. Some go longer, some shorter. Some women just grow babies faster. I heard of one who gestated for over a year. The baby was born six pounds.

Yes, test when your next period is due. If you continue to feel headachey and such, see your physician.

Early babies can be quite large, but still be premature... just as some women will not give birth until 42 weeks and have a baby that weighs 6 - 7 pounds. If your daughter was deemed term, then the dates may have been off a bit. The bleeding some women have in early pregnancy can cause them to think it is a period... some even have it continue; not realising they are pregnant for several months.

My sister continued to get her period for 6 months! She was still on birth control and had no idea she was pregnant! You sure couldn't tell by looking at her. As soon as she found out, she stopped taking the pill, put on maternity clothes and KA-BOOM... big BIG baby bump and three months later a healthy baby girl...

It's possible to have bleeding while you're pregnant. How heavy was it and how long did it last? It happens during miscarriage too... but hopefully that's not the case.
My mum had a "period" about 5 months before my sister was born, and she came out totally fine.
Best thing do do would be getting yourself tested!
