    Vanity Lights Again
    After reading some of the other questions regarding vanity lights, I decided to explore my sockets further... after unscrewing one of the socket bases from the fixture it appears that one of the wires running through it has broken and is no longer connected to to the base. Is this something that can be repaired?

    I am having difficulty picturing what you are saying. The only part that unscrews is the bulb and that leaves the socket. Are you removing the socket (unscrewing one of the socket can't be done) by some other means to inspect how the two wires are attached.

    This is a three light vanity and I had taken the light bulbs out to look at the socket (connections etc) as suggested in other answers and everything looked fine. I started messing with it, and saw that the socket part unscrewed from the arm of the fixture (where the wires feed through), and that one of the wires looked like it was "cut" and no longer connected to the socket base. I did not know if there was any way to repair such a problem. Also, I would think this would only cause that one light to malfunction, but none of the lights are coming on (and they do not have this issue).

    How was the wire origanally attached to the screw shell?

    It looks like there was just a little piece of metal coming out of the top of the socket base and then a wire covered by white cord. It appears that the wiring just snapped off the metal and is now hanging not attached to anything.

    Can you solder the wire back to the metal (terminal)?
