1st Trimester
OK... so yes.. I am pregnant haha
My husband and I had to pregnancy confirmed by our doctor at only 1 month along
I am now 8 weeks and 4 days pregnant (as far as we know)
On Monday (april 14th) I have my very 1st ultra sound... from looking online I figure we really won't be able to see much... but at least we will know if everything is OK.. I'm still a little bit freaked out lol
Anyway... my main question was mostly about carrying 2 babies and urination
Ive been looking around for signs of carrying 2 babies... I've been having dreams of carrying 2 babies and just sometimes feel as though there is... well... more then one lol
I've had really bad morning sickness... always throwup in the mornings... about 4 to 5 times... never vomit throughout the day... HOWEVER... I am ALWAYS sick to my stomach and ALWAYS needing something to eat... the heartburn went away but for the past 2 weeks... GAS... burping and the other... I've aleady noticed a difference (actually at 7 weeks) that my pants are tighter around my lower abdomen and my breasts have been extremely sore ever since 4 weeks along
I PEE way too much I think hahaha about 4 to 5 times PER night... or about every hour and a half... I can't hold it... if I try to hold it and lay there... it starts to hurt...
I have come to notice... for about 3 weeks now... I cannot stand the smell of COFFEE nor can I tolerate the smell of my husband's bologn sandwiches for his lunch... I told him he has to make his own lunches from now on hahaahah You should have seen his face.
Anyway... so basically wanted some opinions of some crazy symptoms of carrying more then one baby :-0) Sorry about blabbing on... haha I hope everything made sense

I think it does not mean anything.
Whether you are carrying one or two babies.
I think that everybody has different pregnancy symptoms.
Does not necessarily mean your carrying twins.

Welcome to pregnancy, all the symptoms you described are normal pregnancy symptoms, not all women get them, some only get a few, others go through pregnancy not even feeling pregnant. There is no way to diagnose whether you are carrying twins by looking at your symptoms, only an ultrasound can tell this early on. I started gaining weight with my son at 5 weeks pregnant, I ended up gaining 80 pounds with that pregnancy, and he was the only one in there.
Wait until the ultrasound, then you'll know.
Good Luck.

no... but sometimes you just have this "feeling"... when I was only considered 3 weeks along... I KNEW I was pregnant... I just knew... but I had to wait to test... sometimes women just KNOW things... about their bodies... they just know...
Thanks anyway...

Yeah I have the ultra sound Monday... we'll see... just wanted to start a topic and compare symptoms...
I'm losing weight... so far anyway... I can't believe 80 pounds?? With 1 baby? That's a lot isn't it? According to the doc.. I shouldn't gain anymore then 25lbs with one baby.. that's crazy lol Did you have a good size baby?

Thanks anyway... HA HA
I knew my wife was pregnant even before the tests came out positive. I do wish you the best.
Good luck with your pregnancy and I am looking forward to hearing what you find out.
Ultrasound is the only way for sure to know. My wife gained 60 lbs. with her baby. It all depends. It is not always exact and precise like the doctor makes it out to be.

Thanks Joe lol
Yeppers... my husband and I are pretty excited about Monday... we also both have twins in our families hehe I've been taking folic acid and I got pregnant really fast... I was off the pill for ONE month... (as in I had one cycle) then we found out we were pergnant! CrAzY! Didn't think it would have happened so soon haha
One of my friends that has 3 kids... she seems to think I may be further along.. I don't think that is possible... we'll have to wait and find out Monday I guess

Yup 80 pounds, the same for my second pregnancy. I have a thyroid condition, when I'm pregnant it goes out of whack, the meds don't help and I gain weight. I hardly ate with my second pregnancy and I still gained 80 pounds. My son weighed 8lbs 2 1/2 ounces, my daughter weighed 8lbs 4 1/2 ounces. 25 lbs is the ideal weight gain, stick to a good pregnancy diet (not diet in the usual context) and walk or do other exercise (discuss this with your doctor first) and you should be fine.
As for symptoms. With my son I felt great, tired yes, peeing all the time yes, but no morning sickness, cravings etc. With my daughter I vomited for 7 months, had to pee every 30 minutes and developed an esophageal hernia (not dangerous, but really makes it hard to keep food down). Both pregnancies were so different, except for the weight gain which I could have done without. ;)
Good luck, let us know how the ultrasound turns out.

Yep for sure... I called them up to ask them what I had to do to prepare... since I have never had one before lol... (oh by the way... I totally forgot about the exhaustion!! Very very tired out! Like going to be by 8pm every night and my hubby wondering what's wrong because I'm emotional haha)
But yeah... I called them and I guess I just need to have a full bladder... so since I will only be 9 weeks... I'm assuming the fuller the bladder... THE BETTER... since my baby is still a little bean haha

The full bladder thing is the worst. I remember sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for them to call me in for the ultrasound, I thought I was going to pee my pants.
I had to have another ultrasound at 39 weeks with my son, full bladder again. They were running behind and I had to wait, almost to term, with a very full bladder, I was ready to strangle someone. When I finally go in they said my bladder was to full and to empty 2 cups out. How the heck do you pee two cups and then stop when you still have to go? It's not easy. ;)
Being tired is normal, your energy probably won't pick up again until the second trimester, and then it will go back down in the third. Remember, your body is working really hard right now, it's supporting another life, be kind to it, sleep when you need it, eat healthy, take your pre-natal vitamins and go to your appointments. You'll be fine.

I'm still a bit freaked out... I mean... I'm not 3 months YET... but I did hear that most miscarriages.. about 1/3 happen before 8 weeks... so I guess I feel a bit better...

Don't worry about it, nothing comes from worrying but worry. Whatever is going to happen is going to happen no matter if you worry or not. Just do what you are supposed to the rest is up to higher powers.
You'll be fine, really.

My wife had an ultrasound that detected the heart beat at 6 weeks I think it was.

I've never had an ultrasound this early on in the pregnancy, in Canada they wait until you are around 4 months. I know that most times the doctor cannot detect the heartbeat until around 12 weeks, but that's just with a heartbeat monitor. Maybe the ultrasound will show the heartbeat, I'm not sure.
Don't be nervous, it's not painful and no matter what you see, even if it is a blob at this point, that's your baby and you will be awed.

I'm in Canada! Hehe
So I went... they saw 1 little one hahaha it was SOOOO AMAZING!! It had legs and arms and it was moving them!! I almost cried when I saw it moving.. there were tears in my eyes!! OMG!! Is all I can say hahaha
I wish that I could upload some pics lol
I saw the heartbeat... like you ACTUALLY see it! Like pumping and everything! I didn't hear it but I don't think she tried to listen for it... it was beating 173 beats per minute!
I wonder if that is good? It measured about an inch... she also said it measured a little bit larger then normal for 9 weeks and 1 day pregnant... she said I might be a couple of days further along... which doesn't make sense to me!!
OMG it was just soooooo awesome to see!! I can't believe the little arms and legs were moving haha OH and when I laughed... it bounced! Haha That was different lol
So yes... we did see a heartbeat and I did see it move... I hope this means I am further away from... well you know what...
I have my 1st prenatal appointment on the 21st... (of this month) I heard that my doc (which is a obyn or however you put it) will listen for the heartbeat then...
We'll have to wait and seee!!
I also heard that they always call after an ultra sound (they as in the doc office) I don't know what that means... if the doc actually calls or what?
Haha OMG What a morning!! Lol

That sounds great. So, only one. 173 beats is good and normal, so no worries there. Wait until you're further along, when you can actually feel the baby move and then kick. I could feel it when my son had the hiccups, my entire belly would shake.
I'm so happy for you. Enjoy every moment, pregnancy is sometimes trying, but it's also the most wonderful experience of your life. Every month there's something new and before you know it you will be holding a beautiful baby in your arms, your baby.
Congrats.
