    Opt
    Hi,

I am under OPT (F-1) and I am from Taiwan. My total income in year 2005 is about $12600.00.

I am some questions. First, will I be able to get any tax refund for the taxes I paid? My company automatically deduct all taxes (social secutiry, CA Income, Federal Income), and I am wondering if I can get the tax refund, how much I will be able to get?

Second, which form should I use? And do I need a professional to file it out for me?

Third, after file, how long does it take to get the refund?

Forth, can the refund be transferred into my back acount directly or has to be a check?

    Thanks you answering my questions.

Yes u should be able to do your taxes yourself and u may be entitled to a refund. As long as u have a bank account with routing # u can have it deposited in your account it takes about 3-4wks after u mail it. U can get these taxforms from your local library and/or post office or off the internet. It souns like u can use tax form 1040 ez. Monies taken out for social security, medicare, fica etc. u can't get a refund on. Don't forget about state and local taxes .
