Title of Dancing Movie from the 1980's?
A group of kids move to NY, rent and fix up an apartment. They go into restaurants and put on a show and pass a hat around to earn money. They are trying to get into a dance contest. They end up meeting the wife of the man who originally wanted them in the contest (he has since passed away). She (the wife) helps get them into the contest. She died her hair blue. They do a little break dancing and they sing also. That's about all I can remember. Any help would be appreciated.

Oooooh... I so know what you are talking about. The old lady has some involvement with the ballet and yes, I believe her husband dies and she helps these city kids instead of the ballet... and at one point her hair is blue and spiky and she is dressed in a shiny leather outfit... I've searched quite a few places and I can't find anything... maybe because it was early, early 90's and not the 80's... I am on a mission though!

A ha... mission accomplished. It's called Fast Forward ('85). I had to make sure... I went to YouTube and entered fast forward. I clicked on the video that said Fast Forward-ending competition song. There was the lady with the spiky blue hair! Hope it helps!
