Sick and different cravings -boy or girl
I am 20 weeks pregnant with my second. I have a girl already. This is a very different pregnancy in that I am sick as a dog this time and I was only nauseated last time. Also I couldn't get enough chocolate last time and this time sweet makes me sick!

I don't mind at all what I have but does anyone have any similar experiences with second time and what sex was your baby. It's a curiosity thing really as either a boy or girl would be great as long as they are healthy. But I read that you are sicker with girls.

Also the chinese chart says it's a boy - didi anyone else use it? It was right last time!

Medically, there's nothing that states a certain craving can determine the gender.

There are a number of theories, or old wives tales, to determine the gender of baby, but that's all they are. How you carry, what you crave, how sick you are, which way the wedding ring swings, how active baby is, Chinese gender chart, etc. all fall into this category. While there is some thought to the morning sickness by some people, it doesn't hold true for everyone so it can't be considered accurate.

Any method has a 50/50 chance of being on the mark... :) Only way you will know is with an amnio (shouldn't be done just to determine gender) or waiting to see at birth. Ultrasound can be pretty good at times, when it is obvious, but it has been known to be wrong and parents have had to make some big changes when they have prepared for one sex and baby was the other!

Sorry, but that stuff is just an Old Wives Tale. In fact, it usually claims you're sicker with boys, not girls, which goes to show it can't be trusted ;)

My SIL has 3 children. With #1 (boy) she was horribly ill. With #2 (girl) she had a nice pregnancy. With #3... she was very ill and "knew" that meant it was a boy. Nope! It was a girl after all. :)
