    Home Based Typing Jobs
I have been searching to see if there any companies out there that hire people to type books for authors. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this before?

It would help to know what other skills that you have in typing and other areas in order to answer your question the best.

Have you any experience at taking dictation? If so, in what field or fields?

Can you format Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, or do so using another similar program?

How are your word processing skills and what are the programs that you are used to using?

Are you just interested in typing from home? Or, are there other things that you might be interested in doing out of your home in order to make some income for yourself?

I personally don't know of any companies that hire people to write the thoughts that others might put into articles or books as authors. But, that doesn't mean that you are limited in what you can do from home.

I don't know how things work in other countries, but in the US, Court Reporters use home typists. I suggest you check the phone book for Court Reporting companies and contact them. You'll have to take a course in procedures and get a copy of whatever word processing software they use. If you can type fast and know a little grammar, you can make OK money.

Sorry I have been so long in answering your questions. I am new to this site and I actually forgot I had asked something on here.

I have previously been a medical transcriptionist, which I did for almost 12 years, but I got tired of the doctor that I worked for. I would need to go to school if I wanted to pursue this again because he was an allergist and I only have experience in that field.

I was a secretary/administrative assistant for 13 years before I quit to raise my kids. I usually work in Microsoft Word.

I would have an open mind about doing other type of work out of my house, as long as it doesn't involve selling.
