Glass Vial with Metal top and 'C' design

Size: 21.9 KB[/ATTACH]Hi, about 10+ years ago, while tilling the garden, my father found this little glass vial. At the time, there was a sparkling blueish liquid in it. Now the liquid has dried and it is just powder, with one little lump of something. The vial is glass, with a #2 on the bottom of it and is sealed with a metal top, with some swirly C-ish design. It is about 2 inches long.

Does anyone have any idea what the heck this thing is?

Have you had it open? My first impression is that it's a perfume bottle. I enhanced your image a little bit so that things can be viewed more clearly.

No, I never opened it. I thought it was sealed completely when I first found it (since it was full of liquid) so I didn't want to ruin it... but after a few years all of the liquid dried up.

I was only 11-ish when we found it, so I told everyone that it was some magical potion; hence the reason I was so reluctant to attempt to open it!

    :)

... but if it were a perfume bottle... what would the sparkling blue sandy stuff be?

Now, I was just making an educated guess that it might be a perfume bottle/vial based upon images that I have seen of similar containers. It could be that it's original purpose was to contain perfume, and then when the perfume was gone, someone put something else in it. They may have been using it for the same thing that you did when you were around eleven years old, and that would be something to have fun and play with!

I have had my glass top stove for three years now and have loved it up until the last couple of months. I am not sure what happened but the two left burners are all brown and somewhat a spotted effect. I have tried razor blades, glass top cleaner, baking soda, rubbing alcohol, CLR, soft scrub,...
