Black with blonde highlights process
My hair is currently very dark brown, even black in places..
I've been washing my hair with hair cleanser for a month or so,
But I've decided to dye my hair black again with bright blonde streaks.
I was wondering what process the hairdressers will go through to achieve the colours I would like? And no, I really am not going for the natural look, I want my hair to be different!
Will they dye all my hair black first then add the highlights? Or vice versa?
I was wondering if I should just home dye my hair black before I go, as I have lots of experience at using home dye.. just to save some money as hairdressers cost a fortune.
Id appreciate your answers asap! Thanks xXxx

What the hairdresser will do is add the blonde highlights first. They will go around the hair and pick out sections, apply bleach to them and then wrap it in foil.
After they have placed the highlights in and waiting for it to process they will then apply the black dye to the rest of the hair.

Yep. If the highlights turn out yellow, they will use a violet toner to neutralise it. :)

It's much easier to go darker than it is to go lighter. So if your hair is very dark brown, and want to go black, you can color it if you want to save some money. However, I recommend that you let a hair stylist do the highlights though. The highlights will require bleaching, and it's a tricky process. If you attempt to do it yourself, you could end up with highlights that are over-processed or white. The hair stylist will use either a foil method or cap method to isolate the highlights from the rest of your hair, then he/she will do the bleaching and toning process. So you don't have to worry about unwanted results. "Professionals usually apply the base color first, and then add the highlights". Just look for a Beauty Shop in your area that you're comfortable going to. Hope this answers your questions.

Well first of all I went in and it wouldn't turn blonde so she told me to come back in about 3 weeks after if washed my hair with cleanser every night and left it in for ages
So I did that but when I went back to the hairdressers she said id have to keep recolouring my hair black if I dyed it black again.. so I got it stripped and blondee:) !x

I'm sure it'll be lovelyy but if your pale you'll need a good bronzer haha! Cos I just looked like a ghost most of the timeee =P and I guess if u dye your hair blonde a lot then it'll be a good break from the peroxide!
