Crohn's disease? Have you read up on it on Internet, on a reliable medical site?

Sweetheart, this is something you need to be able to talk to your family and your doctors about. Your parents will be able to tell you more than we can, since they know about the condition you have. It's important that if you are worried or if you have questions, that they need to answer them and explain it so you can understand. But I have put down a little information for you to read:

Crohn's disease is a chronic, episodic, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that affects any part of the entire wall of the bowel or intestines. Crohn's disease can affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract from mouth to anus; as a result, the symptoms of Crohn's disease vary among afflicted individuals.
The main gastrointestinal symptoms are abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, vomiting, weight loss or weight gain. Crohn's disease can also cause complications outside of the gastrointestinal tract such as skin rashes or arthritis.

Unlike the other major types of IBD, there is no known drug based or surgical cure for Crohn's disease. Treatment options are restricted to controlling symptoms, putting and keeping the disease in remission and preventing relapse.

Carmen, when you get older and mature, you can use positive thinking to help you manage your health issues. Positive thinking will have to be a regular part of your life, and it is well worth it! I have used positive thinking in my younger adult years to help me manage and cure some diseases.

Now, when you are young, you need the assistance of a doctor and medications to help you manage your condition and you need the love and care of your parents who can make your life less stressful.
