    Red hair gone bad
I originally have strawberry blonde hair. I have never dyed my hair until 2 days ago. I decided to put a light brown in and it turned it black:mad: . I decided that I just wanted to go back to my original hair color so I went back to the place I bought the dye from and said I would have to strip my hair. I didn't want to do that so I decided to dye it about the color my hair originally is. But after I got done, my hair is a dark auburn. I just want my normal color back. I went to a hair salon and they told me to go home and take dawn and baking soda and make a paste and put it on my hair for an hour and then put mayo on it to condition it and that you lighten it. Didn't work. I don't want to put anymore chimicals in my hair, but if you know anything to help fade it faster it would be a great help!! :)

I'm really sorry to hear about your ordeal.

You could try using detox shampoos, it will not strip out all the colour, but it will help fade some of it out.

Sweetie, if you want to go from dark to strawberry blonde, you will need to chemically strip or bleach your hair to remove the dark underlying pigment and then apply the desired color. Using Dawn, baking soda or other shampoos won't make your hair strawberry blonde. However, you can use a clarifying shampoo, dandruff shampoo or dish detergent to "slightly" fade the color. I know using chemicals on your hair isn't an option for you, but you may need to do a double process hair color technique in order to achieve the color you want.
