    Catch 22 dilema
Quinn (local political talk show host) says liberalism generates the exact opposite purpose than its stated intent.

New Yorkers quit smoking and gained 10 Million Lbs.
Post-Smoking Ban, City Gains 10 Million Lbs. - March 27, 2008 - The New York Sun
Now it is said they are contributing more toward global warming as a result.

What to do? What to do?!

It all depends on what your goals are. New Yorkers - just as most American - gain weight anyway, smoking or not.
And Americans as group are main contributors to global warming, even if none of them ever light up a cig anymore.
    What to do?.

Really : you don't want to hear my proposals to trim all Yankees down to at max.t 180 pounds :)

    ;)

It's all crap. Free your mind instead. This global warming is about to freeze my azz off here in Idaho. I welcome global warming. I want it to be 110 degrees everyday and all night too. I want to grow fresh tomatoes all year long. Hooray for global warming. Is there anything else Al Gore, the public servant, can do for me? Let me think on it awhile. Get back to you.

I am with you Magprob but according to the liberals the global cooling ice age is also a sign of how bad the global warming is. Funny how they can have it both ways!
    I want 116 daily! :D

It has nothing to do with smoking. New Yorkers walk everywhere they go so perhaps exercise is over-rated . But I think the biggest factor is that we now have Starbucks on every corner. They were going to reveal the true calorie count of their various crapochinos etc but at the last minuted decided to delay that... why ?
While Starbucks officials initially had said they would give out the calorie data ahead of an upcoming New York Health Department rule, they subsequently released a statement saying the information will not be released until the new regulation goes into effect April 15, the New York Daily News reported Saturday.

What are they trying to hide? The truth is that they are trying to sabotage the health of America . If not then why are they trying to infiltrate the health food industry ?
Starbucks aims to woo consumers, who are rethinking their spending amid a broad economic downturn, by rolling out a new coffee blend, delving into energy drinks and investing in espresso equipment and high-end French presses.

Do we really need another overloaded caffeinated energy drink full of sugar? Besides New Yorkers already line up out the door to drink Jamba Juice.

Is there really any mystery here ? Anyone who comes into NYC knows you can't leave the city without trying a biali with lox and a smear. Imagine the poor NewYorker who has to live with that temptation daily ?

I can agree with that Toms. My boss always ate really healthy and took some vitamins but she got cancer and I tried to figure out how in the world she could have gotten cancer.
The only unhealthy thing I know she does is drink a cup of starbucks grande carmel frappacino everyday. Hmmmmm?

OK, I've thought about it. I want the melting glaciers to push the Pacific Ocean right up to my back porch. Then, since it will be 120 degrees every day, I can grab my boogie board, open the back door, run through the kitchen and fly out onto the water and start paddling out to the swells. I want a 20 foot swell every time there is a storm off Utah. I also want to snag California Spiney Lobsters from out of my garden.
Can Al Gore, our public servant, do that for me. I would be very thankfull.

Well we are on opposite sides on THIS one Mag
You have the Pacific while I have the Atlantic and I want one of dem broken ice bergs to sail me on down to the Bahamas so I can become a Bahama Mama and watch 'em beach bums on dere boogie boards while I boogie in da sand to the reggae and calypso and sip my 'ritas and soak up the rays all the days of my life.
Hmmm maybe Cuba will be freed up by then and I can go there instead?? :D

Why deal with all the third worlders when you can do all that from you own back porch? If an iceberg floats past my house, I'm going to lasso that bad boy and use it for fresh drinking water. I may even take my fishin boat out and tow a few back to the house and start selling bottled water. Hey, just because we are faced with all of these horrible things doesn't mean we can't capitalize on them. I'm open for bidness.

yeah got to agree with you ;most New Yorkers are . We are the bluest if the blue states except for perhaps the People's Republic of Taxachusetts. Our Senators and Governors tell a lot about us .

In truth ;NY would be a fine place if we could saw off everything east of the Hudson River and let it float away. (sorry to the folks from Long Island .consider it collateral damage... anyway Suffolk County is thinking seriously of seceding from the State )
