Found a silver certificate .
So I'm in a bar on St. patty's day. I try to buy a beer but the bartender looks at one of my dollar bills funny and hands it back. Says it's counterfeit. So I take it back and hand him another dollar. Turns out the bill in question is a silver certificate from 1928. The number is 23242234A. The names are Woods and Mellon. Am I rich? ;)

You may have enough money to buy a Braves ticket, check out some of their selling values on eBay.

Shrike - Give me some more information, Where the DATE is , following the date ,( IS THERE A LETTER FOLLOWING THE DATE> THE serial number makes no difference , there is nothing in the books that show or tell about paper money using the serial numbers, What you look for on paper money is ( Date, LEtters following the date , signtuers, Printing plate numbers for front and back, If it has a STAR before or after the serial numbers :: Let me know about if there is letters flloowing the date , if there is a star before or after the serial number. What colcor is the seal ,is it on the right or left side of Washington?? IF it is a WOODS _ MELTON THEN IT SHOULD BE _ 1928 ABlue seal, Left side;; , The plate numbers should be - 1600. And 1600*
VF-20 - $25.00---- UNC - 63 -( Unciriculated) - $ 55.00 ---- Plate number- 1601.
VF-20 - $ 40.00 -----UNC- 63 ---------------------$375.00 ---- plate number - 1601*
This is out of the 2008 book on paper money
I hope this helps you with your question!! TO give a more better answer send the answers I asked about. Good luck and GOD BLESS:::: F.B.E.

Paulsgems - When a note has a "star " following the serial number ,It was due to the fllowing reasons #1 - Durning printing they find a note that is defective in any way ,it is destoried and a new note is printed in its place, ( The STAR indicates this happened, They can not print the serial number ( COPY ) except this way. ON FEDERAL RESERVE NOTES _THE STAR COMES Before THE SERIAL NUMBER , NOW also when a note comes back into the tresaury and is in bad shap ,it is destroyed and a star note takes its place,.
Values on " STAR " notes are sometimes DRAMATICALLY HIGHER!!
I hope this helps, let me know ::: F.B.E.

Paulsgems- GO to collectables and go to page 2 or 3 TO YOUR OLD POST <ON THIS PIECE OF PAPER MONEY <I HAVE EVERY THING DOWN ON THAT POST ALREADY ON WEHAT THE VALUES ARE >> To get the right value you will have to look on the front side and see what the letter is fllowing the date, it will either be 1928- 1928a -1928b- etc etc, ( I need that letter in order to give you the right value. :: NO I do not think you got hurt at all on buying it ,but I'll know for sure after I have the letter that is right next to the date .
Have a good day and GOD BLESS ::: F.B.E.

Does anyone know how much a dollar bill, with a blue stamp,( I believe it's called a silver certificate), is worth.
It's pretty worn but not torn or anything.
