Anything a non-custodial can do about custodial moving away?
My son's ex-girlfriend is moving away with her husband about 6 hours away from my son. No paternity was ever established, just a court hearing she never showed up to then a meeting with a caseworker, but my son is now paying child support on a child he does not truly know is his. We have a strong bond with this little girl who is now 6 years old. Is there anything my son can do about this move to still be able to get visits? This mom is not consistent at allowing my son his visitation which were supposed to be every other weekend from Friday night until Sunday night. She's only allowed him a weekend day visit here and there but allows the step-grandparents to take her 3 hours away for a full weekend visit. My son does not have the money to take her to court, she does not work and now has two more children one after the other, and has bragged about her husband getting $92K a year but leaves my son with pocket change to try to live on. I think it is so unfair that she can move that far and now she says my son can only see her one weekend out of each month (he does not even have the gas money to travel down that far and stay in a hotel). I am hurt and I am so sad for him losing his visitation, his beautiful daughter and he has never had any rights as far as his ex-girlfriend says.

Please... any advice? Anything to ease the pain of saying goodbye to someone so dear yet kept so far away from us would help.

    Thank you.

Unfortunately child support and visitations are two different things and if she is not listening to court orders for visitation there really isn't much he can do.
All you really can do is reassure your love to the little girl every chance you get and make sure she knows you all are there for her.
Someday it could just come back on mom and she could end up resenting her for keeping her away from her dad and you.
