    A moment of your time?
    Hello Sir or Madam:
I am considering a project involving my basement and the bathroom that is in place. My bathroom has a sink and commode. I was planning to use the sink/commode combo and install a shower stall (coner quarter circle, if you have been in Lowe's or Home Depot you have seen it) The sink that is currently in place has a large black trap and goes directly into the concrete below question for you is "Can I use a small trap and place the shower stall over top of this?" Oh almost forgot additional info septic tank and well, and the septic tank is below the house.
Thanks for your attention in the matter.
    Mr Steve.

Let me see if I have this straight. You have a lavatory with a "S" trap that you wish to convert to a shower installation. Correct?
Can I use a small trap and place the shower stall over top of this?"
If you're asking if this is possible, the answer's no. 1) the shower drain's 2" while a lavatory drain is 1 1/4", 2) your kavatory's unvented at the present time so the shower will be unvented also, 3) since the trap has to go under the floor how do you intend to install the shower, 4) do you plan on eliminating the lavatory altogether? Back to you, Tom
