    Abandoment laws?
I have had my2 yr. old little boy in my care since he was 9months old he belongs to my husband,s son. But the mother left him with us one weekend and really never picked him up agine. So we,v kept him now she comes around and won't give me rights over him. I am afraid that one day she will take him and he will suffer like the rest of her children.

Someone please give me advice on what to do!

Contact the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) in your county and explain the situation and ask them what you can do. You've had to take him to the doctor for check ups, etc. They can verify information about his visits, the baby's address on the forms, etc. That information can be used in your favor to prove he's been with you - and your husband's son's testimony that you have had his son since ::: fill in the date ::: I would guess they would need some proof that the child has been with you for over a year.

    Best of luck to you!
