    Hi Ricks Girl,

Custom tile shower or plastic/fiberglass shower base? Leak just started? If this is a manufactured base does the shower floor "give" a bit when you step into the shower? I'm trying to get you away from having to open up the ceiling if you don't have to. In the meantime don't use the shower until we get this sorted out. Regards. Tom. PS. I close down at 7PM but will be back in the morning.

We've never felt it give when stepping into the shower. It is a fiberglass tub, and no there is no opening to access the pipes except for taking the ceiling apart.

And that's just what you're going to have to do. Open up the ceiling and save the square that you cut out if you can. When it drys it can be used as a patch. So this isn't a shower but a bathtub with a shower head? Now tell me where the water's leaking from. Also what kind of pipes do you have? Cast Iron, PVC? Let me know what you find and we'll start to repair it. Tom

Do you see any "spider cracks" (tiny cracks that look to be not much wider than pieces of hair, which run around in random directions) in the fiberglass floor, particularly around the drain hole?

No and as a matter of fact, it hasn't leaked since, I just wonder if my daughter didn't shut the sliding door good?

Don't do a thing! You might just have put your finger on the problem. Cheers, Tom

Drain vent leaking water in attic and onto ceiling [ 13 Answers ]

Bathtub Backup & Leaking ceiling! [ 7 Answers ]

Hi. Recently, we had a problem with our upstairs bathroom. I think one of our kids may have pushed a small plastic toy down the bathtub plughole.
