UnAmerican Idol ;)
Ok, have a hidden talent? Want to showcase it? Want to embarrass yourself by displaying your lack of talent? Well here's a place to do it.
Post your artwork, poetry, prose, musical performance whatever you want. We'll all play Simon Cowell on it. <eg>

Well, I'm every upper class high society
God's gift to ballroom notoriety
And I always fill my ballroom, the event is never small
The social pages say I've got the biggest...
There how's that for singing?

I can play "Mary had a Little Lamb" on the recorder... and I know all the US states in alphabetical order... aaahhhh... the things we remember from 3rd grade!
I don't sing, but I'm a smart a$$. Big time. Dying, absolutely dying to post something in this very thread to demonstrate my smart-a$$ed-ness, but it would be mean, so I won't. It probably borders on just being an a$$, not a smart a$$, actually...
I also have loads of self-restraint, apparently. :D

Jillian, I think we really are long lost sisters. I too play the recorder, and also the accordion. I don't know all the US states, because I live in Canada. But, here's the part were we are alike, I too am a smart a$$, I unfortunately do show my smarta$$ed-ness on certain threads, but only when they deserve a smart a$$ remark. Hey the way I see it, better a smart a$$ than a dumb a$$ or a lazy a$$.
My self-restraint is sorely lacking, but I'm getting better every day. ;)

I learned the recorder in school, and the states I learned in a song we had to perform for our parents. It's called "Fifty Nifty United States", here's a YouTube link: YouTube - Fifty Nifty United States. My friend and I (who have been BFF's since 2nd grade) can still sing it together... we usually reserve that for when we've had too much to drink though!
I don't know where my restraint comes from, but sometimes I'm grateful to have it! If I didn't, I'd have gotten booted from this site long ago...

excon, Love it!
You look exactly like I pictured you, and a bit like your avatar.;)
I still don't have enough guts to video myself playing the accordion, it really isn't a pretty site people, and the accordion is way to small so certain body parts get squished, I'm not in the mood for a mamogram today.;):D

Obama Unamerican? Absolutely
[ 26 Answers ]
It came to my attention that Barrack Obama is not a fan of our pledge of allegiance. And doesn't wear the American Flag Pin (Which ALL people in office have worn since 9-11-2001 to show unity and remembrance of all who died on that terrible day).
This really speaks for itself.

Well, the show just started another season & I'm all geared up for the entertainment!
I usually watch it live or record it when I can't. Last week they started with the process of elimination. Some of these contestants were so bad but so humorous of course. Then after they get their walking...
Anyone interested in CANADIAN Idol?
[ 4 Answers ]
I'm not sure if any Americans or people in other countries get the Canadian version of Idol, but it starts this week on CTV and if anyone is interested in discussing it, I thought I'd start this thread. I enjoy it for the most part, except that I can't stand the host, Ben Mulroney! He is the son of...

It's one of only 2-3 "network" TV shows we watch in my house... and for A.I. the eight of us are glued!
I'm rooting for the Joe Cocker-ish fella, but am fairly sure he can't win.:(
I predict the crooner was voted out yesterday. We'll find out tonight.
