I really hate to say this, but if the company's training program doesn't work, it's their responsibility to make changes so it will work. I am familiar with this sort of thing, having worked for a company with the same problem. We had training courses, and tests, during a 6 weeks training session, but many times, the companies software, online, would not respond at all, or freeze when trying to use it. Finally, the company changed it.
Keep calling. Try calling someone locally, if there is anyone.
