    Standard idle timing for honda civic 2001
    Hi, I own a 2001 Honda Civic and I noticed recently it started to idle around 600 rpms. I could be wrong but I thought it should idle a little higher. I have about 90,000 miles on it and I want it to run "forever" so I'm trying to do the right thing without having to throw myself at the mercy of a shadey mechanic or dealership. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Stephanie

    Clean the throttle body with some carb cleaner. Could be some carbon on throttle body blade causing it to starve for air.
