    Hypnosis works ?
    Will hypnosis work to help a complusive gambler combat the problem?

    If you are one that believes that hypnosis works. I do not. I cannot be hypnotized. I think that willpower and a new hobby works better though.

    From what I have heard IF a person is hypnotized they do not have the compulsive urge to do the thing again BUT once they decide they want to and do it the hypnotism is no longer effective and they go right back to it. Then they have to be re-hypnotized.
    Sort of like any habit that someone makes a conscience effort to stop and then down the road think they can now keep the addiction under control and start back with it.

    It can help, but only that help, it will not stop it completely and it has to work together with other methods. Also just one treatment will not cure it either, you may need a couple treatments the first week, use of tapes at home and most likely a treatment a week for a few months.
