    Staffing a store
I'm working for a company that is drastically cutting back on payroll. I work in retail sales in a customer service related business. Interaction with customers is needed for sales yet management wants the store to be staffed with single coverage for about 4 to 5 hours a day.
Does anyone else deal with this. Besides not being able to assist the customers safety is a concern. Also tasks need to be done. I find cutting back on help counterproductive to building sales.

I know what you mean but for some reason the way many people think any more is cutting back on staff = more money for them since they do not have to pay as many people.
If he loses customers and so forth It is his problem so let him do it his way.

Single coverage poses a major security risk concerning stock and cash on the premises.
As well as that the level of customer service also suffers.
