Cat won't let me sleep
We adopted a cat 1.5 years old. She sleeps all day and wants me up with her all hours of the night. How can I change her behavior to allowing me to sleep. She scratches the bedroom door if I close it. (which we don't want of course). She is very gentle in waking me by putting her paw on my face and if that doesn't work she puts her head on my face. Other than that, she is not affectionate with us at all.

Cats are naturally nocturnal so the only way you are going to successfully change her sleep/wake schedule is to keep her awake during the day. She must have someone to play and interact with her during the daytime so that she is tired at night. Putting her paw on you means she wants you to pay attention to her at that moment. Cats are extremely smart and will do whatever it takes to get their way. If your schedule doesn't allow any daytime activity with her... good luck.

Like the above poster said I would try to keep her up. Esp in the evening.
Another thing you can do is make her hunt for her food... that could keep her moving a good portion of the day. Hide it in small saucers in different spots of the house. Maybe take the days amounts and divide it into 3 or 4 different spots . Also good for exercising them esp. if you have multiple levels in your home.
Also try to get her some cat toys, that roll quite well on their own or the little mice that they swat around exchange them daily so that she does not become bored with the same one. Get a bird feeder and put it in view of a window... hours of viewing there.
BtW she sounds like a sweet cat.

And you might want to consider getting another kitty to keep her company. She's still fairly young and will probably accept another young cat as a playmate. If you do decide to go down this road, be aware that cats play very rough together. You will swear that they are about to kill each other, but that's just them being cats. And it will definitely burn off some of her energy!

What you need to do is to just spend very good time with her... then after that you need to show her love of course because she is probably being like this to get attnetion.then you go to sleep do anyhting as possible to ignore your cat then just do thid for a while and she would understand hopefully because that's what I did but I also told her no in a very hard voice then she stopped...

I agree with froggy -- get a second cat if that's possible. (Be careful how you introduce them.) I have four cats who aren't allowed in our bedroom at night. They nap off and on all day and tend to sleep a good part of the night and will interact with each other if they happen to be awake. In other words, they depend on each other, more than the humans, for their entertainment. There are lots of levels in our house, windows they can sit in to watch night creatures outside, a basket full of toys, an empty box or two to play and sleep in, a low-wattage fleece heating pad (for cats), a bowl of fresh water, clean litter. Hmmm, maybe I will be a cat in the next life.

My cat wakes me up too early in the morning around 6:00 and I should be waking up around 8:00 because of my work. My cat stays out all day and enters my house when I arrive at midnight. Unfortunately, nobody can feed her before that time, so she eats and sleeps during my sleeping time. I can't let any window opened because other cats enter and make a mess.
Sometimes she even wakes me up at 5:00 and I am getting stressed. Can you think of a possible way to train her to sleep more?
