Looking for Sponge hair rollers shaped like a spool attached with a scunci.
Hello. I am searching for a specific type of hair roller for my aunt. She used to have a set of hair rollers made of either sponge or foam. They are shaped like a spool of wire or thread approx. 2 inches across. Once you curl your hair into the curler, you attach it with a scunci instead of clips or velcro so the hair does not become damaged. I have looked for hours all over the internet and have called several salons and beauty supply shops but unfortunately with no luck. I am hoping someone here may recognize what I am talking about and perhaps know where I might be able to find them. She bought them a very long time ago so it is not something carried by the mainstream stores nowadays. Thanks in advance.

The ones carried at Walgreens are not them. These are shorter, probably only about an inch and a half tall and the spool ends are about 2 inches wide. They look quite a bit different then the standard ones carried in retail stores. Try to imagine the giant electrical line spools that they sometimes turn into picnic tables and that is the shape of these.

The hair rollers you're looking for are called spoolies. These types of hair rollers are vintage and hard to find. I was able to find a couple of websites that contains spoolies, but I don't know if it's the ones your aunt is looking for.
