A bit to young?(to date)
Well I am in 6th grade... there's this boy that likes me but if he asks me out I would be scared... I like him too but I don't really talk to my mom about everything and I wouldn't know what to say to her... I don't know if I am too young... if he asks my out should I say yes?

Talk to your mom first and then you'll know if its okay to go out with him. Yeah, I know its kind of hard to talk to your parents, but they will understand how you feel, and you will know what to say to your guy.

I agree, remember your parents are a MASS of helpful information, and between them being "parents" you should get some help from their past experiences.
Are you OK with then idea of begin too young to date? Do you need/want someone else to tell you that you are? You could decide that for yourself and take a lot of stress of yourself by doing so.
Also, there's nothing wrong with having close guy friends without ever crossing the "dating" line, you could just be good friends, enjoy each other's company, and do things together with family and friends in a group. See, no pressure.
Doesn't that sound safe and comfortable?

It was long ago, but I remember being in the 6th grade. It was the first time I had my heart broken. I lived in a small town, but it had a movie theater. A date consisted of meeting someone there on a Saturday afternoon. Now and then one could get a kiss. I don't think we got into "going steady" for a few more years. Probably around the time of drivers licenses.
None of this stuff is new. Your parents went through the same stuff you are going through, even though you probably couldn't imagine it and your grandparents probably have some stories as well. Maybe you've already heard them more times than you care to remember.
You'll figure it out. Sounds like your feelings are trustworthy.

It was a different world, then. I wouldn't call meeting at a theater a date, although I suppose that's what we called it at the time.
