    3" copper drainage vs ABS
We are renovating our kitchen & noticed we have copper drainage throughout the house. Can you please tell me which is a better system--to stick with the copper piping or go ABS as we have to fix some leaks anyway.
    Thank you, Mike

I have a 50 year old home with copper arms draining into cast iron stacks. Over the years I've had to tear out a wall and replace the copper pipe, that was ate up and leaking, with PVC. In short plastic will outlast copper. I prefer PVC to ABS. Out in the hot Florida sun PVc held up much better then ABS durninga rough in. We quit using ABS back in the 70's. Good luck, tom
