    Placement of sewage pump
In a sewage holding tank should the pump sit at the bottom of the tank or a few feet up off the bottom?

    Sandiegomotel:

If I remember, you have two SK60 2" discharge sewage ejector pumps (1st post)... right?

How large is the tank? What do pumps discharge into? How tall is the tank? Is the system alarmed? Get back to me with information. You could also call the manufacturers of the pumps and ask them EXACTLY how they recommend you do this for your application... YOU are not their first motel.. ;)

Pump definitely sits off bottom of tank. AS YOU ARE A 28 ROOM MOTEL, AT WHAT HEIGHT, AND HOW FREQUENTLY THE PUMPS CYCLE SHOULD BE DISCUSSED WITH PUMP COMPANY (or engineer, or board of health, etc.). They will need the same information I just asked you for... plan on more questions.. ;)

Here is the hydromatic SK60 pump site. Hydromatic Pump Use contact us on left of their screen to reach them direct.

Let me know your thoughts... Mark

Sewage ejector pump [ 5 Answers ]

I think my sewage ejector pump may be bad. The fuse for the pump popped and when I re-set the breaker, the ejector pump turns on for several seconds and then the breaker pops again. Does that mean the pump is gone bad or do I have an electrical problem.

Replaced sewage pump [ 2 Answers ]

Please tell me its going to be ok… I found my pump for the septic was bad . It would keep popping the circuit breaker. The tank it was in looks 4 feet wide and 7 feet deep. I would say it had 4 feet of water. I am guessing but I would say the pump was out for at least 2 weeks. After I replaced it...
