    My well is no longer pumping water. The electricity seems to check out. Will a pump be working great one minute and then poof - gone?:confused:

    Tickle; That's his question, not his statement.
    Miranda;
    What type of pump? How deep the well? How old? Are you sure power's getting to the control box? Lease give us more details to work with. Regards, Tom

    But yes, a pump can be working one minute and then poof, not working, the technicial term for that is breaking. But serious of course cars work one minute then just stop all the time, things happen.

    But also many times wells also go dry, water tables go down and so on.

    Yes, it could be a pump gone bad but it could also be a bad pressure switch, could be a breaker tripped, could even be some one inadvertently close a valve. Tell us more. The water tank should have a pressure gauge on it. What is its reading. Have you tried reseting breakers.
