    Eviction of squatters rights
    Eviction of squatter
I let someone live in my home after they got out of jail until his probation was over. Now that it is over, he won't leave. How can I get this person out of my home?

Was there a monetary arrangement? Do you live there also? If tenancy was by invitation as long term visitor then you can get police help to evict them. Once you have asked them to leave and they won't then they are officially trespassing if they won't leave.

OK I went through this, if he won't leave on his own then in fla you have to go to the courthouse and have him served with an eviction then he has to go in the amount of days listed...

I don't believe this is correct - by law this person is a tenant and has to be evicted. This is not trespassing if they are, in fact, living there by an (initial) agreement.

Local laws vary. I helped a client with this situation in my state and county in Ga and this is how it worked.

The Police evicted them without any Court action?

Yes, they did. They asked the visitor if the property owner had asked them to leave. The reply was yes and then they escorted the now uninvited guest inside to collect their belongings and waited until they left the property.
