    Internet keeps cutting off
    Hi, I reinstalled windows xp onto my computer the other day. Since this, my internet (cable) was working fine with no trouble. Now it keeps cutting off every half hour or so for about 5 seconds then comes back on. Ive rang the ISP and they say nothing is wrong, I checked the cables and they are all fine, I don't know if maybe have to reinstall the internet connection or maybe something that I'm missing out, if anyone has any ideas about this or why it keeps cutting off every so often, just annoying me when I'm doing something then says been disconnected or whatever. :mad:

    This will happen if your modem is old and dying, how long have you had the modem?

    Had the cable modem about, well quite abit 5-6 years I say

    Yeah they usually only last about 4, I would suggest calling your cable company and asking them for a replacement.

    Its not really that problem biggsie, it just cuts off now and then, I`ll ring them up and ask for a new modem if I can then. Thanks :) let you know how it goes.

    My internet explorer keeps cutting off just got laptop so is new system canot find out how to take internet explorer off and the reinstll
