    Adhesive with gasket or not
I am installing a PVC shower stall drain in a fiberglass shower unit. The drain unit has a rubber gasket and a friction gasket. Should I install the drain with or without a (latex adhesive) caulk applied to the gaskets?

A picture of the drain unit is attached. (I hope)

    Hey Jersey,
Nothing is applied to the rubber gasket. The sequence goes like this.
Ring of plumbers putty or silcon jell between the lip of the drain and the shower floor. Underneath the rubber gaskek followed by the friction ring and finally the retaining nut. Tighten the retaining nut and remove any excess putty/jell that squeezed out from the lip. Good luck, Tom
