    External Hard drive not acessible
Any help would be appreciated. Have vista home premium, took hard drive out of my poloroid dvr, hooked it up through hard drive enclosure. computer recognisis it in device manager and lists it properly (meaning it has model number right) but can't acces it. It doesn't show up in my computer or anywhere else. Didn't state it before but it hooks up via usb 2.0. There are videos on the hard drive I recorded from TV I was hoping to just copy them directly from the drive as opposed to watching and copying.

So, with your computer on, when you plug in the usb, does it say anything about downloading the driver for your device?

I would suspect that you need the proper driver, and it is probably not one that comes pre-installed with Vista.

How about going to a web site for the EX HD, to see if there is a download for the driver there?

Sorry couldn't be of more help.

Yes thank you Progunr, I should have added that it says it installed driver an that device is ready to use. I ran all kind of diagnostics and everything says its installed properly and can be used, I just can't access it, it won't show up in My Computer. Now I have another issue with another hard drive that I used to be able to use and now I can't access that one either.
