    How Much Patience?
My lower-lip won't heal from a cold-sore after two and half months. The initial sore was irritated by the stretching of my lip which caused the sore to swell, but it properly scabbed and sloughed after a week. And NOW, I have a discoloration that won't go away. It's flat- no bumps, blisters or vesicles- just pink and it gets really red when my lips stretch. I've been told that it is a form of post-herpetic erythema. Hydrocortisone is not effective- I've tried it. Anyone one familiar with a treatment for this? Is it a permanent discoloration?

I am pretty sure it is a permanet discoloration. I am not aware of any treatments for this. I actally have a little discoloration too when I got one. Hopefully someone will know for sure if there is a medication for this?!
