I had a veneer done last year. My experience with this dentist was so bad. His staff can never keep up with the files or offer good customer service. To make my long story short. I needed a veneer on one of my front tooth since my own tooth was damaged or broken. They had a temporarily cap on my tooth until the actual veneer was completed. The cap fell so many times that is not even funny and I swallowed the cap in two occasions. I was visiting a friend in Florida when the temporarily cap fell off and was swallowed. It was so embarrassing. I followed all instructions and was careful but still had the same problem over and over again. The second time I had a rehearsal and the cap was swallowed once again during my singing. The worst happened when the dentist assistant had me under Nitrogen gas. I get allergic reactions to certain food and some medications as well. This was the first time I had this done. After the dentist assistant put me under this gas I was left in that room for more than 10 minutes. I was so sick. I thought I was going to have a heart attack. My was screaming calling for somebody to assist me and nobody showed up until way later. I was so frustrated and sick for hours to the point I had to take the day off from work. The veneer was finally done after $900.00 later. I kept calling this dentist office to update my address and it was never done. The next thing I know is that I got a letter from the dentist office to my new address charging me almost $500.00 including late fees for being a delincuent for not paying the bill. I called the office and nothing was done or they worked with me. I had to pay the bill since it was going for collections already. This dentist has a good reputation here in Dallas. He is even in magazines. I cannot believe that this has happened to me. I even wrote a complaint with the Better Business bureau and the dentist himself wrote a letter to justify and safe his reputation. At this point I just paid the bill and all I have is a bad taste from all of this. I go to bed at night and wake up afraid of this veneer falling again. According to this dentist I am a delinquent for not wanting to pay the bill and because of his believable good reputation there is nothing I can do. Dr Grinaldi. You and your staff sucks.

I really must ask. So what your saying is that you went to his office before and had two caps but in and both fell out which then you went back to his office and had a veneer but in. Why did you go back to him when you had the two caps fall out? Personal if it was me I would have seen another dentist to have a replacement cap installed ever the less the veneer. Just a point.

Usually when a veneer is done it only takes 10-14 working days to come back from the lab where it is made. I don't understand why you had temporaries on so long.

Nitrous oxide is very safe is used properly. Here in Ontario, Canada only a dentist can administer the nitrous and the patient should never be left alone.

I agree with Scottish2008, why would you go back to the same dentist after having restorations fail? Any dentist can be in a magazine, they often PAY to have articles and/or advertising put in magazines, doesn't always mean they are the best in the area.
I am sure that Dallas has many better qualified dentists than the one you've seen. I'd suggest letting the State Board of Dental examiners.

I went back to the same dentist since the veneer was already ordered and paid at the dentist office before hand. I have always been brave since I was a child. Never afraid to dentist, doctors or hospitals but after all of this happened I do not feel the same. Its been almost six months now since I had my last cleaning. I hope that I can find a good dentist soon because I lost the trust and I am very scared to sit on a dentist chair again. There is no doubt that there are really good dentist here in town the problem is to find one.
