    Line vs Load connection?
    I am wiring a disconnect box. In the box there is two terminals for line and two for load. Do I connect the wires from the breaker box to the load terminal and the steam generator to the line terminal?

    No, just the opposite. The line side is the source of the power (breaker panel) and the load is the appliance or device using the power (steam generator).

    We might have a terminology issue here for "steam generator". Not sure. Suppose we are connecting a big toaster. The toaster is considered the load.

    If we are connecting something that actually generates power, like a diesel generator then you should be using a transfer switch, not a disconnect.

    The term "steam generator" is ambiguous because it could mean:
    1) A system (the toaster in the example) that produces steam for heating.
    2) A system that uses steam to generate electricity
