A dual-status alien is a foreign national who has met the 183-day Substantial Presence Test but has spent at least one day in non-resident alien status and therefore CANNOT file as a resident alien.

You ARE a dual-status alien, and must file a dual-status return, which requires filing BOTH Forms 1040 and 1040NR.

It is NOT a return for a lay person to file. GET PROFESSIONAL HELP.
