    1998 Ford Explorer
    Where is the location and how do I need to go about replacing the starter on a 1998 Ford Explorer?

    The starter is located near the bottom of the engine, best viewed from underneath.
    Start be disconnecting the battery terminals and then raise and support the vehicle so that it is safe to work under it.
    Disconnect the cables that lead to the starter and position out of the way.
    Unbolt the starter from the engine and install the replacement.
    Reattach the cables and lower the vehicle.
