Theft under $5000, tomorrow is my court date.
    Hi
I was charged with theft under $5000.
I was caught for stealing sunglasses($150).
Also I had tags from the same store on me.. (which I store previous times)
It was about $1500... I admitted that I stole those too.
Then they accused me of stealing things that I was wearing.
I got really scared, I admitted all, and gave back my coat, bag, and shoes.
I gave back all stuffs that I took the day after.

I got my lawyer. And tomorrow is my court date.
He told me that I don't have to go. He can take care of it.
It is true that I have school, but I don't know if it will be OK to not attend the court.
(I can't contact him, he rarely answers... )

I know I did a stupid thing. I am very nervous and scared. Even though it is my first offence, it looks serious since I was doing it several times.
So... should I go with my lawyer tomorrow? It is not that I don't trust my lawyer.. it is just that I am the one who committed the crime.. (also.. my lawyer is too positive... )

I will never tell someone not to do what their attorney says, but you did not say what type of hearing this is, But it appers you already confessed to everything ( and why did you ever do that, never say anything without an attorney) but at this pint it is just the sentence to do. If this was me I would be in court to know what was happening to me

I don't know what type of hearing this is, but I know that tomorrow the crown will go over the things that the police wrote about the incident and decide whether they will drop the charge or take it to the next level(?).

I would be there. Anything this big that concerns my life, I wouldn't want to miss. Plus, wouldn't it show the judge that you took this seriously? But... maybe it is different in Canada. I'm in the US. I hope you have learned your lesson. What did you tell yourself that made it okay to take things that don't belong to you? The price doesn't matter. The same principle applies whether it's $5.00 or $5,000.00. Above all, learn from this and good luck.

    Hello x:

So, how much are you paying this lawyer to disregard his advice?
