    Pregnancy or Birth Control Issues
I've been on birth control for about 3 years now. Recently, I had my period, which was really heavy. It started on Wednesday. I started taking my new pack of pills (Cyclessa) Saturday. I was still bleeding when I took it. The next day, Sunday, I had unprotected sex. I had no issues until about a week later. I noticed a light brown discharge, and I had slight cramping. The next day, I found out I also had a urinary tract infection. I started taking medication for that as well then. It's been a week since then, and I am still having the brown discharge and cramps. I haven't had unprotected sex since that first mentioned time. I'm just wondering if it's implantation bleeding, or if it's my birth control acting up. I still have a week until I'm expecting my period, but I really don't want to be pregnant, so I've been slightly freaking out about it. If you could tell me your opinions on this, I would very much appreciate it.

I hope your doctor knew you were taking cyclessa + antibiotics for your uti. Cyclessa and antibiotics are known to interact.

I'm not so sure why there's a sudden change of your cycle if you've been taking the same birth control pills for 3 years... I could be related to your diet, stress, exercising, etc.

Did you have unprotected sex WHILE you were bleeding.. if so, that (along with it being unsanitary) poses a high risk situation for both of you. As far as pregnancy goes, pregnancy during a period DOES happen, but the chances of one getting pregnant while on their period is low.

The brown discharge + cramps may be due to drug interaction. Talk to your doc about this.

I told the doctor about being on birth control when she gave me the antibiotics. She basically just told me the birth control would be as effective.

And I wasn't bleeding when I had sex. I said I was still bleeding on Sat. when I took the first pill, because usually by the time I need to take that pill I'm not bleeding that heavy. I didn't know if that would effect anything. It stopped later that day, and I had sex the next night.
