    Automotive question
I have a 1991 Honda Civic DX 1.5L that has conked out on me. The problem appears to be no power getting to the spark plugs. I don't know what to do to fix it. A new distributor is costly so I don't want to replace it without knowing that's the problem. Any ideas?

Yes, definitely buy a book on your car. You can pick up a service manual at the part store pretty cheap, and if you read it--you'll get some much information and confidence to understand what your car is doing. Even if you don't do your own work, knowing the logic behind your car's engineering will protect you from people who try to rip you off.

If you (or your dad) need more info on how to remove the coil and igniter once you have the distributor out of the car, take a look at this write-up I did on distributor bearing replacement (on '90 1.5 DX) - http://thezcr.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12945

You will see there are informations (with pictures) how to take the coil and igniter unit out of the distributor.
