1040NR-EZ with form 8843 or just 1040EZ after 5 years
    Hi people,
I have been in US for over 5 years as student. I went back only once during that period for one month. I'm trying to go back soon though to visit.

I'm pakistani and I'm eligible for tax exemption treaties by filling form 8843. Now it has been over 5 years so I don't need to fill 8843.

So does that mean, I can file form 1040-EZ (for resident) rather than 1040NR-EZ (for non resident)?

    Thanks
    Adeel

You became resident alien of the United States for tax purposes and you need to file 1040EZ or 1040.
