Scatching noise from electric clothes dryer
The rear drum seal came unglued from my dryer and I replaced it. However, I still have a scratchin noiseseeming to come from the inside of the drum andwhere it fits on the inside of the dryer. There is white paint missing where this scaping is occurring when the drum is turning. I did not see any barrier such as a gasket to prevent the noise so what could be causing it?

About how old is this dryer?

    Thanks,

RES7745RQo is the model # of my dryer.
Remember the scratching noise is coming from friction between where the drum fits on the back panel. There is missing paint here where the drum is turning. It seems there should be some kind of buffer between the two or something is causing the turning of the drum to wobble.

I have an electric dryer that is taking longer and longer times to dry the clothes about 2-1/2 hours to do a standard load. The time seems to be increasing - Is this dangerous? Rear bearing on General Electric clothes dryer [ 2 Answers ]

Can anyone tell me how to replace the rear bearing on dryer model DDE6500GALAD? I can put a drop of oil on it from the rear of the dryer and it stops squeaking for a few loads but then starts again. I can't find any documentation for it on the GE site. Thanks
