    Two Hampton Bay Ceiling fans do not work at all
    I just bought a house and 2 of the three ceiling fans, both Hampton Bay, do not come on at all nor lights. I tried the remote new batteries various positions of the black switch and both the pull chains. I checked for power at the wall switch and it is o.k.

    The booklet has a 1998 copyright date and covers mdl #'s 252-120;252-095;252-042;251-674;482-447; 482-543; and 482-624

    Depending upon the exterior finish?

    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi, try checking the connections with the fan on the ceiling. For the lights, check the lamps first. If you have a multimeter (digital or analog) would be helpful.

    Thanks;
    I put in a known good bulb and still nothing. I am trying to avoid taking it down from the ceiling. I do have a multimeter

    Does the red LED light up on the remotes?

    First check the frequencies of the fans and remotes.

    The red led on the remote does not blink. Battery good. I removed the remote receiver and connected the wires directly and the unit works fine.
    Home depot only sells the remote and receiver together for 30 dollars. Any way to fix the remote or the receiver or do I have to buy 2 each of both units to get both my fans to work

    If the red LED does not blink, it sounds as though the remote is damaged.

    You can't buy replacements from Home Depot you have to contact Hampton Bay directly. Their number is in our sticky.
