    My check nsf 5000.00
    I wrote a check in the amount of 5000.00and it was returned for nsf I live in California can I just pay it or am I in trouble

    It might be that simple, or it might not. There's a lot more to this story...

    If it happened by mistake and you just were notified about it, if it were me, and I had the money, I'd be sending them a cashiers check by overnight delivery.

    However, most people don't make mistakes like that... If you'd like to tell us what happened, we might be able to give you some good advice.

    What trouble you may be in depends on the what the recipient wants to do. If they are willing to believe it was a mistake and accept a replacement, they you are cool. If they want to prosecute, you may be in some trouble.
